Argos has announced it will close its 34 stores in Ireland, ending all operations here including online by the end of June this year. All stores will be closed by June 24 and it will not be possible to order from the Argos UK website to Ireland instead,. This renewed focus on food being placed the heart of the business has already impacted Argos’ operations in the UK. There is also a further 400 Argos click and collect points in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK. Irish consumers have also complained online about growing numbers of items being out of stock for both collection and home delivery post-Brexit.

founded in 1981, Rivervalley Rangers FC has been a mainstay on the Fingal soccer scene ever since and last year it celebrated its 40th anniversary. But it wasn’t long before the ever-growing schoolboy section became the primary focus of the club. Part of the driving force behind this move is newly appointed committee member David O’Connor who says the club should restart their female teams. Having seen girls in Swords Manor and Swords Celtic kits in the area, O’Connor feels that Rivervalley should be catering for the female population too. He now plays with the Rivervalley senior side in the Leinster Senior League, opting to give back to the club who started it all for him.
