Q3 2022 marks the second quarter where TSLA generated gross profit outside the automotive segment. In Q3, TSLA increased its energy storage deployments by 62% YoY to 2.1 GW, making the first quarter over the 2GW mark. In Q2 2022, TSLA went from a -$79 million gross profit in Q1 to an actual gross profit of $153 million. Now that they are generating a gross profit from these other business segments, it's realistic to think these lines could generate $1 billion or more of gross profit annually in the future. TSLA generated $5.38 billion of gross profit, which is a 25.09% gross profit margin in Q3.

Building on a rebound staged last week, stocks climbed again on Monday. The Nasdaq (COMP.IND) closed +0.9%, the S&P 500 (SP500) ended +1.2% and the Dow (DJI) finished +1.3%. The S&P 500 rose 44.59 points to end at 3,797.34, while the Nasdaq climbed 92.90 points to close at 10,952.61. Traders are awaiting earnings reports from megacap tech companies starting tomorrow afternoon -- 47% of the S&P 500 market cap issues Q3 results this week." As Brian commented, we delivered another strong quarter with revenue and earnings growth across the enterprise despite moderating conditions in many of the end markets we serve. Adjusted EBIT for the third quarter of 2022 was $487 million, up $87 million compared to the prior year. Just looking overall at our residential insulation business, we continue to see very strong demand for our insulation product.
