The race for RNC chair will be decided on Friday by secret ballot as Republican officials from all 50 states gather in Southern California. Current RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel is fighting for reelection against Dhillon, one of former President Donald Trump’s attorneys. While they are not attending specifically on McDaniel’s behalf, Trump’s team is making clear in private conversations that he backs McDaniel. Dhillon has unleashed a torrent of attacks against McDaniel in recent weeks that have resonated across Trump’s MAGA movement.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration’s initiative to spur prevention and treatment of cancer got a dose of celebrity support Monday when singer Mary J. Blige joined Jill Biden and the American Cancer Society to announce national meetings on breast and cervical cancer. The program provides more money for research to, as Jill Biden said, “help us end cancer as we know it. She has promoted breast cancer screening, especially among Black women who are disproportionately affected, through the Black Women’s Health Imperative. Walking behind Biden are cervical cancer survivor Tamika Felder and singer Mary J. Blige. Her cancer advocacy began in the 1990s, after four of her friends were diagnosed with breast cancer.
