Sir Keir Starmer’s is shamelessness. Earlier today, the Labour leader appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. Rajan skewered the Labour leader for his u-turns on Jeremy Corbyn’s fitness to represent the Labour Party, his pledge to scrap student tuition fees and his solemn promise to nationalise utilities. On that issue alone, the overall Labour Party sensibility still has Starmer in its grip. But could the Labour leader go against that as well?

Coupled with the closure of coal-fired power stations, electricity privatisation unleashed a decades-long ‘dash for gas’. This period of expansion came to an end following the introduction of the Climate Change Act in 2008.

Last month, we learned that students at Lincoln University have been told that the poetry of Tennyson is ‘problematic’. Still, Year Zero thinking was only a minority pursuit for fringe ideologues, such as the more extreme French revolutionaries and the Khmer Rouge. The idea that the past had to be wholly abolished, fuelled by the teleological belief in ‘the right side of history’, was rare. Hence the implication that everyone in European history was racist, sexist, homophobic and worse than us. As Douglas Murray predicted in his 2022 book, The War on the West, ‘future historians will look with deep puzzlement’ on today’s woke moral panics.

Yet contrary to Remainer claims, Britain’s undoubted economic problems post-Brexit have not led to a wave of active Bregret among most Leave voters. Most importantly, since the Brexit vote the establishment has acted to thwart democracy on every front.

Why Trevor Noah’s Sunak skit gets Britain wrong

Noah even suggested that white Brits were concerned that Sunak will personally seek revenge for British colonial activities on the Indian subcontinent. Only a very small minority of Brits object to Sunak being PM on account of his racial background. Contrary to Noah’s fantasy Britain, actual Britain is one of the most tolerant places to live in the modern world. A Downing Street spokesman said that Sunak rejects the idea that Britain is a racist country. Former chancellor Sajid Javid went further, calling Noah’s comments ‘simply wrong’ and ‘completely detached from reality’.

Blackouts: another dark consequence of Net Zero

If energy supply fails to meet household demand, blackouts would have to be imposed between 4pm and 7pm on the ‘deepest, darkest evenings’ of January and February, he said. Davis was nodding to the intermittency of renewable energy – the reason renewables alone can never replace existing forms of energy. Successive Conservative administrations, the National Grid and the energy companies have failed to adequately secure our energy supplies. The aim is to push households to keep energy consumption beneath prescribed limits.
