I’m not sure he’s even Premier League quality. Premier League is anything but deadEnjoyed the letter “Premier League is Dead” from Raul, London and I do know what he means. In my thoughts, in a few years, the Premier League will be the de facto Euro Super League (and therefore World Super League?). And not just because it is appalling that the Saudi climate criminals were allowed to buy a club and forever besmirch the reputation of the Premier League. I say “designed to appear” bitter as we all know Stewie is merely performing a role and he does it well to give credit.

In an attempt to make his midfield more creative Klopp has broken his team. They took care of all the dirty work a football team needs to do in order to dominate. With Thiago that midfield doesn’t work as hard and with his propensity for possession and creativity the ball is spending much longer in midfield than before. Maybe Klopp simply doesn’t know how to play anything but full throttle football. Given the way we play, the team was inevitably tired – but there’s no real cause for concern.

It’s common knowledge that Barcelona have a wretched record against Bayern and this latest chapter didn’t offer any improvement from a Catalonian perspective. Now the inquests will begin, but will there be enough introspection for Barcelona to get back to a position of health? Perhaps the biggest question facing the club as they awake with sore heads after their Champions League misadventure is whether the gamble they’ve taken can ever pay off.

Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte has admitted he took a “big risk” playing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Cristian Romero against Sporting on Wednesday. A point at Marseille next week will be enough to send the Premier League outfit through to the knockout stage. Argentine centre-half Romero also missed the home loss to Eddie Howe’s men, and Conte has revealed he took a risk playing both on Wednesday evening.
