Durban — An energy expert has advised South Africans and businesses to make alternative plans because the country could experience Stages 4 to 5 load shedding or worse. This means the country will continue to experience load shedding over the next two years. The plant performance recovery plan, which is in the final stages of being approved by the government, will be driven vigorously, and an external project management company will assist the board in stress-testing and monitoring the execution of this recovery plan. Stage 2 load shedding would be implemented during the day from 5am to 4pm, whereafter Stage 1 load shedding will be implemented daily, he said. Evening load shedding will then be reduced to Stage 3 daily from Tuesday until further notice.
