Yesterday, on the first anniversary of the Ukraine war, the United States announced the signing of new sanctions against Russia and its allies, and the imposition of new restrictions and fees on exports, and while other countries imposed sanctions on Moscow, which threatened to move forward as far as Poland, Ukraine received military aid and pledges of international support. The White House said in a statement that the sanctions were directed at targets in Russia and “third country actors” across Europe, Asia and the Middle East that support Russia’s war effort. US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen condemned the “illegal and unjustified war against Ukraine”, in a session attended by Russian officials, and reiterated calls for the G20 countries to do more to support Ukraine and impede the Russian war effort. We are working hard to prepare for it.”In Moscow, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also declared that Moscow would “win” in Ukraine, stressing that his country was ready to move to the borders of Poland. In Germany, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in a video message that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not achieve his goals in this country.
