The Scottish Cup fourth round has begun with the Scottish Premiership sides joining the action in the last 32. Three ties went to extra time and penalties after nothing could separate Hamilton and Ross County (0-0), Partick Thistle and Dunfermline (1-1), as well as St Mirren versus Dundee (0-0). Partick succeeded in a nail biting 4-2 shootout victory while St Mirren put Dundee to the sword by firing in three spot kicks without reply to progress 3-0 at the SMISA Stadium. Dundee United were put under the ropes against Stirling University before finally breaking the deadlock just before half-time through Aziz Behich. Jamie McGrath and Glenn Middleton then struck in the final 20 minutes at Tannadice which ensured the Premiership club's progression.
