Wild deer populations are rocketing in rural parts of Japan, and that's a source of frustration for the people who live there. He says crop damage in the 2021 fiscal year cost farmers about 15.5 billion yen or roughly 120 million dollars, and wild deer were the biggest cause. The agriculture ministry's Fujikawa Masahide says wild deer ravage crops and cause traffic accidents.
