Greaves’ Tottenham record had stood since 1970, but Kane’s first goal in his last three appearances gave him a share of the milestone. “To get the goal and equal the record was a nice feeling.”Tottenham boss Antonio Conte hailed Kane’s desire to play through his illness. Kane could have broken Greaves’ record in the second half, but his close-range header was superbly saved by Bernd Leno. Showing his selfless nature, Kane was more relieved that Tottenham ended a damaging run of two successive league defeats.
