Brave Scarlett battles back after major surgery when she was only four weeks old

And surgeons discovered Scarlett was suffering from a condition where the bowel twists and stops part of the blood supply. Now Scarlett is seven years old and is 'fit and healthy'. They immediately took her to their GP who advised that they attend the A&E at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Scarlett was diagnosed with Volvulus - a condition that occurs when the bowel twists so the blood supply to that part of the bowel is cut off.

After six days of evidence at Rochdale Coroners Court, Ms Kearsley said medical advice given to Awaab's family also meant he received 'sub-optimal' care that could not prevent his cardiac arrest.
