Pastrana started his week on a high note, qualifying on speed and making the Daytona 500. However, late in the evening with the checkered flag in sight, Pastrana appeared at the backend of the top-ten. It looked like he might even come away with a top-five finish in the chaos, but one awkward push on the white flag lap sent him sideways down the track. Along with dirt racing at Volusia and the 500, he also ran the Truck race on Friday night. Even the Truck race, my heart rate was 170 in a three-wide pack.

During Sky Sports’ coverage of qualifying for the United States Grand Prix, it was suggested that Ricciardo could return to his former team Red Bull in a possible reserve role. WRC future roadmap 70% complete, says FIA

This season the WRC introduced new Rally1 hybrid regulations representing a significant shift from the previous ruleset and a first step towards a more sustainable future. Rally director Wheatley has been heavily involved in the consultations and says the FIA is still on target to deliver its roadmap for the future by the end of the year. “I would say percentage-wise 70%,” Wheatley told Motorsport.com when asked for an update as to how close the FIA is with its plan for the future. “We have done a lot of canvassing of manufacturers that are involved in WRC, we have spoken to some manufacturers that are involved in rally generally. This year the WRC has witnessed prototypes of future rally car concepts through demonstrations of an all-electric Hyundai Kona, developed by former factory Hyundai WRC driver Hayden Paddon, at Rally New Zealand, and the hydrogen-powered Toyota Yaris at Ypres Rally Belgium.

De Oliveira eager to escape SUPER GT "comfort zone" in 2023SUPER GT star Joao Paulo de Oliveira has expressed a desire to add more overseas races to his 2023 schedule in a bid to push himself outside of his "comfort zone". He was also due to contest the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2020 for ByKolles, but Japan's strict border restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic forced him to give up the drive and focus solely on SUPER GT. "I feel endurance racing is where I should be focusing, so hopefully I can do Le Mans, Nurburgring, Spa, these big 24-hour races." However, de Oliveira underlined that he plans to continue his relationship with Kondo Racing in SUPER GT for a fourth season. "It’s good to have the stability of racing somewhere where I have the experience, and SUPER GT gives me that," he said.
