The Buffalo Bills were not in the Cincinnati Bengals’ league Sunday. In the first quarter, Cincinnati gained 10 first downs compared to zero for Buffalo. The yards gained after 15 minutes read: Cincinnati 160, Buffalo 8 and the scoreboard: Bengals 14, Bills 0. There is no doubt the losses of both safety Micah Hyde and defensive end Von Miller hurt, but that doesn’t excuse what happened Sunday. Mano’s Wine has partnered with multiple professional leagues and some of their franchises to make wine for teams in bottles etched and painted by hand or labeled with team logos and designs. In August, the Bills and Mano's announced that these commemorative Bills‐themed wine bottles would be available for purchase. Most people are buying the wines because they’re Bills-themed, but Leonard said it is also a good product. "We think Bills Mafia will enjoy the collectable and customizable Bills wine,” said Dan Misko, senior vice president of business development for the Bills.

Oft-penalized Tonawanda nursing home gets $10,000 state fine after resident death

The state Health Department has issued a $10,000 fine to an oft-penalized Western New York nursing home where earlier this year a resident fell to her death from a third-floor window. The fine was issued to Safire Northtowns on Aug. 29, but not posted in state records until this month. This is the facility's second fine tied to the inspection following Schrecengost's death: Safire Northtowns also received a nearly $53,000 federal penalty over the summer due to the investigation's findings. Since Jan. 1, 2016, Safire Northtowns has received $78,500 in fines from the Health Department. Richard Platschek, Judy Landa, Solomon Abramczyk and Robert Schuck are the key investors in the limited liability companies that own Safire Northtowns and its sister facility, Safire Rehabilitation of Southtowns in Buffalo.

If you had told Beane any of this at kickoff Monday night, surely he wouldn’t have believed any of it. Beane stayed in Cincinnati to be with Hamlin and his family, getting to see and support the Hamlins as Damar began to recover. Damir couldn’t be in the ICU, a precaution from his age to flu, but Mario Hamlin showed Beane videos of Damir’s wrestling.

Dylan’s complex creative process is unique among contemporary singer-songwriters. My new book, “No One to Meet: Imitation and Originality in the Songs of Bob Dylan,” takes this challenge seriously and places Dylan within a literary tradition that extends all the way back to the ancients. But I am also a longtime Dylan enthusiast and the co-editor of the open-access Dylan Review, the only scholarly journal on Bob Dylan. “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” resounds with the original Old English ballad, which would have been very familiar to Dylan’s original audiences of Greenwich Village folk singers. For them, and the writers who came after them, creative originality meant going inside oneself to find a connection to nature.
