Nigerians need to start asking them “hard questions” on the key performance index that each of the sectors represents – economy, education, health, oil and gas, etc. Despite my admonitions, what social media is awash with right now are far from those necessary questions I expect the presidential candidates to be bombarded with. And that feature of the social media app offers that. What would they (the presidential candidates) do to reverse all these ugly trends? The most significant question then is, who will ask the presidential hopefuls those questions that are germane to our national economic revival?
The APER form has all manner of columns and boxes on a broad spectrum of indices, relating to personnel performance. These include key performance areas, self-appraisal, performance analysis, performance ratings, and counselling. The Second Niger Bridge, Port Harcourt-Bonny Road, Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, and Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, collectively dubbed “legacy projects,” principally inform the chest-thumping by the president. Buhari’s administration also rejuvenated the moribund rail sector, availing Nigerians another travel option different from the more popular road travel. On his recent visit to Imo state, Buhari was welcomed by vacant, echoing streets.3 months ago TheCable
On Thursday, October 20, 2022, Liz Truss resigned as the UK prime minister. She also used her resignation letter to call on Truss to also resign but on that same day (October 19), Truss said she was a “fighter, not a quitter.” Alas, the very next day on October 20, Liz Truss resigned! AdvertisementThe main reason for this long story/shalaye is to show you some of what transpired in the 45 days Liz Truss was British PM and her many ‘sins’ so you can compare from a Nigerian perspective. And clearly, if Liz Truss were Nigerian, she would never have resigned. Interestingly, in the wake of the Truss resignation, there were usually predictable reactions from a wide section of Nigerians basically confirming that Liz Truss wouldn’t have resigned if she were Nigeria.3 months ago TheCable
At best, they were oxen fattened for sacrifice and were duly sacrificed, so the apple of El-Shaddai’s eye may live. The Germany-based pastor, said Suleman, had no passport let alone a visa or flight ticket. You also have to wonder why he owns three private jets, which must cost loads of money to maintain, instead of travelling through toilets. The point he tried to make was that the watch was way beyond what should be found on a man of his profile-the owner of three private jets. It is thus fair to admit that Suleman is not the only one making out as though he is Superman.3 months ago TheCable
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), recently claimed the Eastern Security Network (ESN) was formed by governors in the south-east. The Eastern Security Network was formed by the government of eastern states. The governors formed the security team, how can I go and condemn them? The meeting appreciated the formation of south-east joint security outfit codenamed ‘Ebube Agu’ — headquarters in Enugu to coordinate our vigilante in the south-east,” Umahi said. The LP presidential candidate confused Eastern Security Network with Ebube Agu.3 months ago TheCable

The Nigeria Official Selection Committee (NOSC) has maintained its verdict on not entering for the International Feature Film (IFF) award of the 2023 Oscars after weeks of internal conflict. AdvertisementAMPAS later granted the NOSC a one-week extension to reconvene, a grace that was to expire on October 21.
