Nigeria: CCECC Built Lagos Blue Railway to Move 31 Million Passengers a Year

China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC, has kept to its promise, with the completion of the Lagos metro blue railway line. The project, which has become addition to the infrastructure base of the country and done by the company, brings the total railway project CCECC has completed in Nigeria in the five years to about 730km. The completed segment of the blue line is 12km spanning between Mile 2 and the Marina downtown. The Lagos blue line mega station buildings on Marina and Mile 2 are architecural wonders, with the elevated high bridge railway track over Lagos lagoon, the National Theatre wetland neighbourhood and running parallel with the CMS long motor bridge. Preparatory to the commissioning, the Lagos Municipal Transport Authority, LAMATA, has lauded the quality of the work done by CCECC.

O'Brien said the U.S. would continue reviewing the sanctions list imposed in the early 2000s following reports of human rights abuses and election rigging by the current administration in Zimbabwe. Whether that's the result of the underlying mismanagement and corruption, or whether our sanctions add to it. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele yesterday disclosed that the country's digital currency, the eNaira recorded a total of N8 billion transactions in the first one year after it was launched by President Muhammadu Buhari. The CBN governor also said the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) was part of the central bank's plan to make Nigeria fully a cashless economy. "The destination as far as I am concerned is to achieve 100 per cent cashless economy in Nigeria. "Yes, it is true but Nigeria must move from being a predominantly cash economy to a predominantly cashless economy. It is the Bank's hope that the eNaira will drive the digital economy agenda and foster a more prosperous Nigeria."
