The strikes on Monday, February 20 and Tuesday, February 21 are the latest in a series of industrial action days amid an ongoing pay dispute. The GMB Union said around 2,500 members of staff, including paramedics, emergency care assistants and call handlers, will be on strike over the two days. Demand for ambulances remained high on the last strike days earlier this month - unlike previous strike days - prompting further, outside support. Mr Holdaway has urged the public not to avoid health services if they become unwell or injured in the run-up to strike days, reminding people that the NHS is still open.
