McKINLEYVILLE – As the unincorporated community of McKinleyville looks to the future, there’s great uncertainty about the state of the economy. These and other issues were discussed Jan. 18 during the McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of McKinleyville meeting, attended by about 50 residents at Azalea Hall. While it’s unclear whether there will be recession and what it would mean for Humboldt County, there are also positive developments on the horizon. “The potential for offshore wind places Humboldt in line for a genuine prosperity boom,” states the economic impact report. Also speaking at the State of McKinleyville meeting was Fifth District Supervisor Steve Madrone, who represents McKinleyville.
