Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their efforts to tie down Mason Mount to a new contract amid growing links to a move to Liverpool at the end of the season. The 24-year-old has been a key player for Chelsea for several years now, after breaking into the first team in the 2019/20 season under Frank Lampard. This season, he has once again been trusted by Graham Potter and has played all but one of the Blues league matches, scoring three goals and assisting twice. But as for Mount, Liverpool will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye to see how his contract talks develop and are ready to launch a summer bid for the Englishman should Chelsea fail to agree on a new deal.
