But for this year’s NBA All-Star Draft, captains LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo will pick their teams in a live, televised segment Sunday just before tipoff. Either way, the All-Stars – with most having spent a chunk of their youth hooping in playground settings – pointed to the fact that participation in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game overshadows the prospect of becoming one of the last players selected by the captains.
