Arizona Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort and Arizona Wildcats football head coach Jedd Fisch go back over 20 years. The duo first met ahead of the Houston Texans’ inaugural season in 2002 when Ossenfort was a pro personnel intern and Fisch was a defensive quality control coach. “We’re going to turn over every stone to find the right players for this team,” Ossenfort said Jan. 17. That to me, that’s the type of players we’re looking for.”Monti Ossenfort on his vision for the #AZCardinals: "We're going to look for the right type of players. No team has ever scored more points in a national championship game, dating to the beginning of the BCS in 1998. It looked a lot like the Bennett-to-Mitchell touchdown that gave Georgia a fourth-quarter lead it would not relinquish against Alabama in last year’s CFP title game. Georgia vanquished the Tide to break a 41-year national title drought last season, avenging its only regular-season loss in the process. They were within a victory of the program’s first national title since 1938.

The Arizona Cardinals have faced him once before, in Week 2 of last season, and the young target reeled in six balls for 65 yards and a touchdown. “All-around type of guy.”The Cardinals head to Minnesota on Sunday, and the defense’s ability to keep Jefferson away from big-chunk plays could be a deciding factor. However, while defensive coordinator Vance Joseph called Jefferson a special player, he doesn’t look at him differently than other top receivers Arizona has seen this year. Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury sees some DeAndre Hopkins in Jefferson’s ability to line up everywhere and produce on a down-to-down basis.
