Claire Hakeman remembers a time she wasn't allowed to play football at school. I was striving for the right football team, back then pathways weren't in place like they are now. Claire eventually trialled for Wolves girls and nabbed a place, progressing quickly into the under 17s and eventually playing for Wolves first women's team. At secondary school there was no football team then, so I encouraged my PE teacher to form a football team and enter a tournament. After a stint as Girls and Women's Football Development Officer at FA Staffordshire Claire continued to fight for women and girl's football, culminating in the history making day England's lionesses won the UEFA Women's Euro 2022.
