Alesha Dixon has been announced as one of the hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 (Ian West/PA)British TV star Alesha Dixon, actress Hannah Waddingham and Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina will host the Eurovision Song Contest, it has been announced. “On the TV hosting the Eurovision Song Contest final in Liverpool will be Alesha Dixon, the Ukrainian singer Julia Sanina, the award-winning actress from Ted Lasso and Games Of Thrones Hannah Waddingham and someone you may well know, Mr Graham Norton,” she said. Meanwhile, British actress Waddingham, 48, who scored an Emmy for her performance as Rebecca Welton in award-winning comedy Ted Lasso, will also host the song contest. BBC Eurovision director Martin Green previously said Ukraine’s participation in the song contest can be imagined as a “really rich ribbon running through” the event. Kate Phillips, the BBC’s director of unscripted, said: “The BBC is thrilled to have such a talented line-up bringing the Eurovision Song Contest from Liverpool – on behalf of Ukraine – to the world.

Good times to roll again at Rivervalley Rangers

founded in 1981, Rivervalley Rangers FC has been a mainstay on the Fingal soccer scene ever since and last year it celebrated its 40th anniversary. But it wasn’t long before the ever-growing schoolboy section became the primary focus of the club. Part of the driving force behind this move is newly appointed committee member David O’Connor who says the club should restart their female teams. Having seen girls in Swords Manor and Swords Celtic kits in the area, O’Connor feels that Rivervalley should be catering for the female population too. He now plays with the Rivervalley senior side in the Leinster Senior League, opting to give back to the club who started it all for him.

When St Patrick’s Athletic took the lead inside five minutes at Tallaght Stadium, the feelings of anxiety in the stands were palpable. And for a brief period, it seemed like the Shamrock Rovers players were afflicted by that tension. They regrouped to deliver a performance which puts one hand on the league trophy they wish to keep in their possession. If Derry do the business there, Rovers know that a point from the top-two meeting back here in Dublin 24 next week will be sufficient.
