And now new ITVX drama Nolly hopes to introduce this former telly superstar to a whole new generation. The three-parter from It’s A Sin and Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies, and starring Helena Bonham Carter in the title role, covers Noele’s career from 1964, when she was hired to launch the new soap, Crossroads.
