Details have been revealed of the King’s coronation due to take place in May. King Charles III’s coronationThe coronation of the King and Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey on the Saturday morning, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. — The Royal Family (@RoyalFamily) January 21, 2023The palace has not said exactly which family members will appear in the coronation procession or on the balcony. Sunday will see “global music icons and contemporary stars” descend on Windsor Castle for the coronation concert which will be broadcast live on the BBC. On Sunday, people are invited to gather for a “coronation big lunch”, overseen and organised by the Big Lunch team at the Eden Project.

Arts Council England invest £6.7m in Wiltshire creatives

SEVEN organisations in Wiltshire will receive a share of over £2.2m a year as part of a cash injection from Arts Council England. Bradford on Avon’s Wiltshire Music Centre, an important local hub for live music, has been awarded £103,546 per annum to help deliver Arts Council England’s “Let’s Create” strategy. Wiltshire Creative, which offers audiences a wide range of cultural experiences at Salisbury Arts Centre, Salisbury International Arts Festival, and Salisbury Playhouse, is also among the benefactors. Swindon will receive more than £2.2m over the course of the three years as an Arts Council ‘levelling up place’. Southwest Area Director for Arts Council England, Phil Gibby, said: “I’m thrilled to announce Arts Council’s commitment to seven organisations across Wiltshire, who will receive regular funding from the Arts Council England over the next three years.

RobertsonAssociated PressRALEIGH — A North Carolina law preventing legal settlements between farms and workers from requiring a farm operation to become a union employer doesn’t violate the U.S. Constitution, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday while overturning a lower court decision. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, restores a provision contained in a 2017 farm law that was challenged by the Farm Labor Organizing Committee — the state’s only farmworker union with several thousand members. But the law’s meaning was misconstrued, Senior Circuit Judge Diana Gribbon Motz wrote in the three-judge panel’s prevailing opinion. Some legislators wanted to stop what they considered a “coercive practice of using unrelated litigation to pressure agricultural producers into collective bargaining agreements,” Gribbon Motz wrote. Circuit Judge Julius Richardson, a nominee of President Donald Trump, wrote a separate opinion agreeing with the judgment but suggesting the settlement provision could be challenged in state court.

Burr says SEC probe into trading over with ‘no action’ Published 9:51 pm Friday, January 6, 2023RALEIGH (AP) — The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has concluded its investigation of former North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr related to investment sales early in the coronavirus pandemic without taking any action, Burr said on Friday. Burr, a Republican who didn’t seek reelection in November after three Senate terms, and Gerald Fauth, the brother of Burr’s wife, had been scrutinized for potential insider trading by the SEC. Fauth’s attorney said separately Friday that the SEC probe of his client is also over with no such trading found. Burr and other members of Congress had been the focus of public criticism for aggressive trading in early 2020, before the economic threat from the virus was widely known. “This week, the SEC informed me that they have concluded their investigation with no action,” Burr said Friday in a written statement released by his lawyer.
