A cyclist suffered serious injuries after hitting a wire deliberately strung across a popular pathway in Flintshire. The 41-year-old, from Pentre, Deeside, has no recollection of what happened, having lost 50 minutes of his memory. Having cycled to Chester, Ian was returning along the Chester Millennium Greenway and was passing Deeside Industrial Park when the accident happened shortly after 4pm on Tuesday, February 21. Some 30-40 yards before the accident, Ian, 41, overtook another cyclist called Val, a retired office worker. The police were called and witnesses reported seeing three youths cycling off shortly before the accident, and returning shortly afterwards.
