Against a backdrop of falling prices at the pumps, there's also talk of Chancellor Jeremy Hunt extending the 5p a litre fuel tax cut for another year. There was widespread speculation last year about whether retailers had actually passed on Rishi Sunak's 5p fuel duty cut to hard-up motorists. And those same suspicions could rear their ugly head once again if Mr Sunak's eventual successor as Chancellor goes down the same road.
