Several alums of the BCHL club are in the mix for the top award in NCAA Div 1 men’s hockeyFormer Chilliwack Chief Mathieu Caron (left) is one of 84 NCAA Div 1 hockey players in the running for the Hobey Baker award. (Darren Francis photo)Several Chilliwack Chiefs alums are in the running for the prestigious Hobey Baker award. The GAA is 22nd best among all NCAA Div 1 keepers and the SP is fifth. Players on the Hobey Baker fan ballot with more tenuous ties to Chilliwack include University of Denver forward Massimo Rizzo, Clarkson forward Ayrton Martino and Princeton goaltender Ethan Pearson. All three were part of the Chiefs organization but never logged any regular season games for the BCHL franchise.

There are individual scenes, individual moments of action and even characters that actually work, but as a whole, Black Adam is a tangled, cluttered mess. As much as it feels descended from Every Previous Superhero Movie, Black Adam also owes a lot to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Years of manufactured excitement for the event of Black Adam may tempt you to check it out, despite these criticisms.

Virgin Orbit Is Launching the First Ever Orbital Mission from the UK

The first ever orbital space launch from the U.K. is scheduled to take off today (Jan. 9) with a spaceplane made by Virgin Orbit, a satellite startup under Richard Branson’s Virgin Group, delivering nine military and science satellites to Earth’s orbit. Virgin Orbit shares, traded on Nasdaq, are up nearly 12 percent in the new year so far after losing more than 75 percent in 2022. The women of Hel are among a small but growing percentage of women occupying the professional esports ranks. In 2019, only 5 percent of professional video gamers were women, despite nearly half of gamers worldwide being female. The percentage of professional players has climbed to 8 percent this year, a 60 percent increase in three years.
