Cate Blanchett has won the best actress gong at the British Academy Film Awards while antiwar German movie All Quiet on the Western Front won seven prizes, including best picture, building the somber drama's momentum as awards season rolls toward its climax at next month's Oscars . Its other trophies included adapted screenplay, cinematography, best score, best sound and best film not in English. Weather news: Warning of 'very dangerous' 48 hours ahead for flood-hit NSW

New South Wales is facing a "very dangerous" 48 hours from the flood emergency as 20 communities remain under evacuation orders. The town of Lismore faces yet another flooding crisis, with some locals told to prepare to evacuate.Meanwhile, Byron Bay on the state's Far North Coast is already experiencing flooding. Emergency Services Minister Steph Cooke said the state was facing a "very dangerous 48 hours" and there were flood risks all across NSW. Union St, Ballina Rd, Folyes Rd, Taylors St, Norco Lane, Franks St.The SES has issued 120 warnings across the state including 20 emergency warnings. Multiple severe weather warnings are in place for heavy rainfall which may also lead to flash floods in parts of Queensland's south-east coast.

Diver finds more human remains in Lake Mead, marking at least the sixth discovery this year

After a diver found what appeared to be a human bone in Lake Mead, the park searched the area and uncovered more human remains, the US National Park Service confirmed Wednesday. The diver, who is a private business operator at the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, found the bone in the Callville Bay area of Lake Mead on October 17, according to park spokesperson Stefani Dawn. Idaho students murder suspect faces months behind bars

The man suspected of killing four University of Idaho students has appeared in court overnight for a status conference, where a judge scheduled a preliminary probable cause hearing to begin June 26. The judge also ordered Kohberger to remain remanded in state custody with no bond. (CNN)Kohberger has been held without bail in the Latah County jail in Idaho since last week following his extradition from Pennsylvania, where he was arrested late last month. Kohberger got a new licence plate for his car five days after the killings, the affidavit says. Records also show the phone near the site of the killings hours later, between 9.12am and 9.21am, the document says.
