Senator Bernie Sanders says he’d be interested in exploring a tax on robots. Opponents of the robot tax says it would harm productivity and actually negatively impact human employment. Bernie Sanders thinks so. The idea is that taxes on robots would help support retraining programs for human employees while creating shorter work weeks and increasing worker satisfaction. Some economists have called the idea “ profoundly misguided ” and the European Union had a chance to implement a robot tax and declined the opportunity .
