This shows that the royal residence formed the nucleus of a Citadel, which must have been further protected by a moat. “There were different opinions about the origin of the fort but mostly Mughals were believed to be the architects of present Balahisar,” Bakhtzada said. Balahisar was also used by Hari Singh Nalwa as a royal residence for Maharaja Ranjeet Singh during Sikh rule. “The Afghan Durrani rulers used it as their winter camp in early 19th century and named it “Balahisar” a Persian name, meaning high fort,” Bakhtzada said.

The HEC chairman shared that HEC Pakistan makes every effort to ensure the timely delivery of grants to all universities. Pakistan, China agree to broaden scope of CPEC project

Share:ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and China have agreed to start the ML-1 project on priority basis and also decided to include a new area of water resource management and climate change in the portfolio of Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). During the meeting, Pakistan also assured Chinese counterparts to continue to beef up the security of Chinese working under CPEC projects and informed that several initiatives have been taken by Pakistani authorities in this regard. Ahsan Iqbal said that both sides expressed satisfaction over the ongoing projects under CPEC while several projects were proposed. Pakistan and China also agreed to start the ML-1 project which was considered to be the backbone of the CPEC and remained neglected in the past. The Pakistan side also requested China to create a financing window or a credit line for Chinese companies, participating in this project, he added.

To see all the ways the world needs Black women while actually devaluing Black women’s lives is an unresolvable paradox—in short, a mess. At times, I have found myself wondering if the messy Black girl’s malaise is doing anything innovative beyond making the somewhat facile point that Black girls can be depressed, too, but differently.

Chinese experts team disclose Preceding report on Pakistan flood

The 11-member delegation, led by Xu Xianbiao from the Department of Flood Control and Drought Relief, Ministry of Emergency Management of China, presented the report after visiting various flood-hit areas of Pakistan. The Chinese team leader Xu Xianbiao also shared China’s practical experience of flood control. The report called for further improved relief activities to ensure that the affected people have food, clean water, clothing, medical aids and shelter. In the mid-term, the report suggested an integrated Indus Basin-wide flood control plan and improving flood protection layout by building reservoirs upstream, diverting flood water middle stream and expanding drainage capacity downstream. The report called for incorporating major flood control projects in the national strategic plan, including flood control reservoirs, embankment reinforcement and capacity lifting, lake management and expansion of drainage projects.
