The SNP-led Scottish Government has come under-fire after it was revealed they spent £11k of taxpayers cash on a lavish St Andrew's Day party for EU bureaucrats in Brussels. Scottish Tory MSP Sharon Dowey told the Scottish Daily Express: "Spending over £11,000 on this St Andrew’s Day celebration away from Scotland sums up how skewed the SNP’s priorities are. SNP ministers seem to have learned no lessons from partygate.”But a Scottish Government spokeswoman defended the spend. She said: "Investment like this remains vital to ensure the Scottish Government can stand up for and promote Scotland abroad, especially with key audiences in the EU. St. Andrews Day celebrations are a key moment in the year to promote the best of Scotland.
